Imax Theater At Tropicana

The first and only IMAX theater in Atlantic City can be found on the second floor of the Quarter at the Tropicana. The enormous screen, which is 70' x 50' or roughly three-fourths the size of a football field, is a rarity in the area and has proven to be a big draw for the Quarter. The theater runs special IMAX movies on subjects such as NASCAR racing as well as current Hollywood movies that are converted to the IMAX wraparound format.
While building the IMAX theater Dennis C. Gomes, the president of Resort Operations for Aztar Corporation (Tropicana's parent company) personally tested out hundreds of different seats before settling on the ones he felt were best for the theater. The care put into its construction is evident, creating what is clearly Atlantic City's best movie theater.

DEEP SEA 3D Dive In with IMAX 3D! Sea life in a whole new way. DEEP SEA 3D, a new underwater adventure from the filmmakers behind the successful IMAX 3D film Into the Deep, transports audiences deep below the ocean surface. Through the magic of IMAX and IMAX 3D, moviegoers will swim with some of the planets most unique, dangerous and colorful creatures, and understand this inspiring underworld.
DEEP SEA 3D is directed by world-renowned underwater cinematographer, Howard Hall, produced by Toni Myers and Michele Hall and narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, with an original score by Danny Elfman.

ADRENALINE RUSH The Science of Risk takes audiences on a breathtaking journey from extraordinary heights, featuring spectacular footage of extreme skydiving while delving into both the biology of risk-taking and the physics that make human flight possible.
Skydiving teams bring audiences along on a secure yet death-defying ride, initiating their jumps from speeding air crafts miles above the immensity of Florida's Keys and California's Mojave Desert. The film also introduces audiences to the awesome sport of base-jumping, with teams of jumpers leaping off spectacular cliffs and mountains, culminating in 4500-foot dives off the magnificent Fjords of Norway. But more than a thrilling visual experience, the film educates audiences on the psychological and physiological forces that are at play in extreme risk-taking and on the physics involved in skydiving, base-jumping, parachuting, and their related activities.

V for VENDETTA This picture has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience through proprietary IMAX DMR technology. It will be released in select IMAX theatres beginning March 17, 2006, concurrent with the release in traditional 35mm theatres.
