Ac Cigar Gala, Goodbye Steel Pier

On the cusp of the New Jersey Smoke Free Clean Air-Act, the crew at Unsuited Entertainment brings you The Atlantic City Cigar Gala on September 16th. Highlighting some of the world's finest cigars, exotic liquors, and wines all in an intimate setting of Atlantic City's own Bernie Robbins' Stadium.

The event is a cigar lovers delight. You will smoke award-winning cigars, drink mouth watering beers, fine wines and spirits, taste foods from some of the regions hottest chefs, all while viewing the Atlantic City skyline and being entertained by a jazz ensemble and a handful of unique performers.

The 2006 Atlantic City Cigar Gala is an outdoor event featuring two, four hour sessions on September 16th from Noon until 4pm and from 6pm until 10pm. Tickets are $100 and includes premium cigars, food, spirits and entertainment.

On April 15th 2006 the New Jersey Smoking Ban or Clean Air-Act came into effect. Cigar lovers can no longer enjoy their favorite cigar in bars or restaurants. The Clean-Air Act restricts smokers from smoking anywhere indoors excluding the casino floor. The 2006 Atlantic City Cigar Gala is an open-air event held under the Atlantic City sky at the Bernie Robbins' Stadium, home of the Atlantic City Surf minor league baseball club.

Goodbye, Steel Pier...
This will be the last summer for the rides and carnival games of the Steel Pier. Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc., which owns the Taj Mahal and the Steel Pier, is closing the Atlantic City landmark to make way for a new entertainment complex that will include stores, restaurants and hotel rooms.

Opened in 1898, the Steel Pier was the site for the famed diving horse show and numerous other acts. It will close in mid October with no specific dates for its re-opening. It is yet another sign that Atlantic City is evolving from a family resort into an East Coast Vegas... except better.
