EDITORIAL REVIEW
This summer is ending, and with it will go the warm sea breeze that wafts over the dozens of cafe tables that grace the AC Boardwalk. There's a nice variety of ocean-front real estate to choose from, whether you're grabbing a quick burger or lingering over elegant seafood. If you really want the feel of the islands, try out one of the casino beach bars. Most of them can whip up sandwiches and salads, along with frosty drinks and live music to give you the full vacation vibe. Enjoy the warm climate while it lasts:
OPA
This Belle of Brighton Park serves up delicious, traditional Greek dishes and creative seafood with a Mediterranean flair. Sit at the counter for a front row seat to watch showman Nicholas Marks spin his Flamenco-style guitar, playing just about anything.
Johnny Rockets
An all-American classic. Awesome shakes, burgers and other bellybusting treats served ala Happy Days. Forget the health food, grab a tuna melt, the fries/ rings combo and top it all off with a hot fudge sundae. Located directly in front of Bally's on the boardwalk.
Hard Rock Cafe
This restaurant located in the Trump Taj Mahal is known around the world. Burgers, grilled chicken, salmon, with a little Aerosmith or Cold Play on the side. The "mac and cheese" is (almost) as good as Mom's. The Hard Rock is a consistent crowd pleaser.
Rainforest Cafe
Flavors from around the globe grace this kidfriendly, sometimes frantic, but fun eatery. No endangered species on the menu, but the Chimi-Cha Cha appetizer- chicken, cheese, sweet corn peppers wrapped in a wonton is great. Outdoor seating in front of Plaza.
Mediterranean Flames
This new kid on the block offers a friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere, inside and out. It puts a nice new face on an old AC classic, Duke Mack's. Good food, and a less-hectic location, make M e d i t e r r a n e a n Flames a pleasant choice for dinner.
Evo
Trump Plaza's entry into the great outdoors is upscale but relaxed, perfect for a date or girl's night out. The classy design matches the drinks and the food. Salad and pasta portions are generous and tasty. It's location makes it a great place for people watching.
