Jim from Woodbridge asks: "The Walk is great, but last time I was there before the holidays, I had a rough time parking. Suggestions?".
Jim, the thing to remember at The Walk is that the parking situation is not in any way set in stone because of the expansion of the property. A current map of the complex lists nine parking options, and there's sure to be more to come as the master plan for The Walk unfolds to its full fifteen-square-block size. One technique could be to just drive down Baltic Ave and use one of the three lots on Ohio Avenue, Michigan Ave East or Michigan Ave West. You can also park at Fairmount & Mississippi or Atlantic & Missouri- both lots are $3 and have a free shuttle to The Walk. Another option is to park at the new Caesars parking lot, it has easy access to The Walk..
Barbara from Little Egg Harbor asks: "I've heard about all the new AC shopping over the last few years. If I wanted to do Christmas shopping for my friends and family, can Atlantic City be the place to go, and how would I do it?".
Barbara, not only are you right, in that AC has become a hot shopping destination, but you are absolutely right in thinking that our town is a place to go for gifts for all your friends and family. On top of that, what if I told you that you could cross off an entire shopping list in one day? See below.
Here's the hit list: Get off at Exit 2 of the Expressway, and your first stop should be Tropicana and The Quarter. Everything from educational DVDs at the Discovery Channel store to Swarovski crystal can be found here. Leave the Trop and proceed seven blocks north toCaesars, and it's objective: The Pier Shops. This high-end shopper's Nirvana is comprised of 90 stores in which you can locate the perfect item for almost anyone. Leaving Caesars (or maybe not depending on the parking situation, see #1 in this piece), pay a visit to the outlets at The Walk. Currently occupying all or part of seven square blocks in the heart of the city, its 50+ stores and 10 food options not only provide gift-giving but also carbohydrate options, since you're sure to be pooped from the first two stops. After all is said and done at all three areas, The Walk is wonderfully convenient to the westbound start of the AC Expressway. You came, you shopped, you conquered. And you did it in a logical loop fashion that saved time and headache. (Look at a map of the city on page 6 - trust me. It's a big continuous line.) If you can't shop AC this holiday season, hold on to this article until your next visit so you have your battle plan already in place.
