Maybe back when Monopoly was first released, there was such a thing as widespread free parking in Atlantic City. Nowadays, you might still be able to find most of the streets on the board, but finding free parking is about as hard as owning Park Place and Boardwalk without this Community Chest of knowledge. Here are some tips on where to find free or cheap parking in Atlantic City.
The Tun Tavern: AC's only microbrewery will validate parking at the lot across from its entrance, which is across from Applebee's in The Walk, at Baltic (purple) and Michigan. The lot posts signs for fee parking, but once you get your parking stub validated at the Tun, it's free. Great food, free parking, and you're across the street from The Walk, so do some shopping while in the neighborhood. It's a common plan, which is why the shops in The Walk closest to this lot are doing very well.
Casinos: Several casinos are offering free parking with the possession of a player's club card. Simply sign up for a Connections card at Bally's or Caesars or a Total Rewards card at Showboat and Harrah's to receive free self-parking through the end of the year. Normal charges still apply when you go through the valet.
The Sands also offers free self-parking with the Sands Card and additionally will pay for your parking on the day you sign up (If you don't have a card when you show up). Drive in, pay for self parking, and bring your parking receipt to the Promotions desk that issues player's cards and you'll get reimbursed.
The Walk: If being at the far end of The Walk at the Tun Tavern lot doesn't do it for you, The Walk's Ohio Avenue lot is free with purchase and validation at any of the shops. There are also new parking lots at Atlantic Ave at the mouth of the Expressway and on Fairmount Ave.; they even provide a shuttle to the outlet shops. It's not always free, but it's always reasonable. One of the best parking tips for The Walk is to sign up for a Connections card at Caesars and park for free in the new parking facility. If you get out at the right exit, you be just steps away from the stores and it won't cost you a penny.
Leave the Car: If there's no car involved, there's no paying for parking or tolls. Take a bus and leave the driving to someone else. Even locals should consider taking the train from places like Absecon. Avoiding the hassle of parking is almost as good as getting $200 for passing Go.
