Clearing The Air |
Where can you smoke? The New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act is now in effect. The new law has been getting mixed reviews, but most of the controversy here in Atlantic City focuses on putting the law in practice, not the law itself. The general rule is that smoking is banned from all indoor public areas except the casino floor. We've put together a list of the casinos and the venues within the casino where smoking is permitted. The boundaries of the law are still being tested, but as of this printing, here's where you can light up:
Your Definitive Guide: Where You Can Still SMOKE | Bally's | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Borgata | B Bar | | Caesars | Toga Bar | | Claridge | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Harrah's | Xhibition | | Hilton | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Resorts | 25 Hours Lounge | | Sands | Swingers Lounge | | Showboat | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Tropicana | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Trump Marina | The Deck | | Trump Plaza | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Trump Taj Mahal | Designated Areas Casino Floor Only | | Wild Wild West | Mountain Bar | There are probably a couple of surprises here, such as the fact that smoking is not permitted in the Blue Martini at Bally's. Expect the beach bars to be the outdoor haven of the smoker/drinker this summer. The situation is probably not finalized, so check back to find out what happens when the smoke really settles.
