Convention
If you're coming to Atlantic City for a convention, there's no better place to stay than the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel. This upscale hotel not only adjoins the AC Convention Center, but is also within walking distance to 11 out of the 14 casinos. Hotel highlights include a variety of memorabilia from past Miss America Pageants, from crowns to dresses to television broadcasts and more. If you feel like having a beer close to the hotel, the Sheraton is connected to one of the few brewpubs in the city - the Tun Tavern. Other hotels within walking distance include Caesars Atlantic City and Trump Plaza, two of the city's most revered casino-hotels.

Beach
The Hilton BeachThe Hilton Atlantic City is an enticing beachfront location offering great summertime extras such as rentals for beach chairs, umbrellas, and water sports items, as well a beachside cocktail service and a colorful beachfront bar--The Dizzy Dolphin. Generally, any of the 11 Boardwalk casinos make for a convenient and exciting place to stay if you want to enjoy the beach. Hotels such as the Days Inn, Atlantic   Palace, the Holiday Inn Boardwalk and the Howard Johnson Express offer economic alternatives for low-budget travelers who want to enjoy the most out of the beach.

Family
The Flagship Hotel
offers a unique location for families visiting Atlantic City, it features spacious guestrooms with kitchenettes that overlook the AC skyline, the ocean and the Absecon Waterway. It's a nice option not only because you can prepare your own meals, but you're also able to keep the kids away from the hustle and bustle of the casinos. An indoor pool and arcade locks-up The Flagship as the premier destination with kids.

Budget
There are several low-budget hotels located about a mile or so outside of the city, the best of which are the Fairfield  Inn, Ramada Limited and Comfort Inn  North, These hotels are accommodating both for business and leisure travelers. Not only are these hotels economically friendly, but most provide shuttles to downtown AC as well. Additionally, they offer a more convenient location to area attractions located on the Mainland or in West Atlantic City. For those who must stay in town, there are several hotels throughout Atlantic City that offer relatively inexpensive accommodations in the heart of all the action. The Days Inn, Howard Johnson's  Express, Holiday Inn Boardwalk, Best Western Envoy and the Flagship offer easy access to all AC has to offer - including the casinos, the Boardwalk, nightlife and dining - without emptying your wallet.

By Boat
If you're visiting Atlantic City by boat, where better to moor your vessel than at the 640-slip Farley State Marina, a public marina that marks the setting both for Harrah's Casino Hotel , Trump Marina Hotel Casino and the Borgata. The beautiful marina offers easy access to all three resorts and is connected to historic Gardener's Basin, a family-oriented attraction featuring museums, aquariums, restaurants, boat tours, antique shops and more. Additionally, Gardener's Basin is just a few blocks from the Flagship Hotel, which may be a wiser option for travelers keeping a budget.

Non-casino hotels
If you want to separate yourself from the casino life, but still want to be close to the action, Atlantic City has numerous non-casino lodging options to fit the bill. Perhaps the most upscale hotel is the Atlantic  Palace, located on the Boardwalk in midtown AC. The hotel offers ocean view suites and is situated near a wide variety of city attractions. The Flagship offers a quiet refuge in the Marina District, with a much calmer Boardwalk scene than that of mid-or downtown AC. If you're keeping a strict budget, hotels such as the Days Inn, Holiday Inn Boardwalk, Howard Johnson's Express and Quality Inn Hotel offer inexpensive rates and convenient locations.

Wild Weekend
Atlantic City can be a wild place at night. All the hotels on the Boardwalk offer easy access to the best clubs and bars in town. Some resorts are just as wild in house. The Taj Mahal is home to the Casbah, one of the most popular nightclubs in town. Caesars' Temple Bar is an upscale lounge-type atmosphere that sees a large and selective crowd on weekends. Resorts is a block away from Atlantic City's most famous bar--the Irish Pub, a true city gem. Adult entertainment is spread throughout the city; casinos like Trump Plaza, Bally's and the Claridge are within walking distance to most of these clubs. The Atlantic Palace Hotel is just across the street from Deja Vu, another of the city's well-known dance clubs. One of the hottest spots in town to party is definitely the Borgata - all of its bars are a great place to meet people and the dance-club Mixx is THE place to get down and boogie.
