Live Music In Ac
EDITORIAL REVIEW
Live music in Atlantic City hasn't been this good since the days when Sinatra and the Rat Pack wooed audiences at the famous 500 Club that stood on Missouri Avenue. In fact, there's even more of a variety of sounds and venues to explore than ever before.
Also drawing in major acts is the Borgata, showcasing some of the biggest names in rock, including Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani and many more.
For a more intimate setting, there a numerous venues in and around town offering a more local and a much less expensive music experience. The Sound of Philadelphia (TSOP) is a cozy little jazz club located inside the Tropicana, delivering some of the finest regional and national jazz ensembles in town. These are not your stereotypical lounge acts, as found in most casinos, but rather a dynamic variety of bands that represent the rich history of the R&B and Philly Sound.
Another popular venue, located outside the city, is the Bubba Mac Shack, providing excellent blues and gospel music from around the world. Located in Somers Point, Bubba Mac's showcases the finest in blues and gospel music, and also hosts a variety of rock acts. With three separate stages, audiences can enjoy a great selection of live music ranging from Bill Haley's Comets, of "Rock Around The Clock" fame (yes, there still around, though without Haley), to the local tones of Bubba Mac's own blues band, which plays regularly each week. Upstairs also serves as an intimate rock club, where a variety of touring and local rock bands perform.
Hallelujah! The House of Blues Sunday brunch is here. The award-winning combination of uplifting Gospel music and an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet is one of the most unique treats in town. The food consists of many brunch favorites such as an omelet station, carving station, stacks of bacon and sausage and even delicious homemade waffles. However, what separates the HOB Brunch from the others are the southern-inspired delicacies such as fried chicken, biscuits & gravy, cheddar cheese grits Creole Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya. You can even get your omelet made with crawfish!
