on the tenth anniversary of the day we met.

What do like most about Atlantic City?
The rich history, the beach, the people.
Describe your perfect day in Atlantic City.
Going to the beach with my family and childhood friends, getting subs from
White House or pizza from Tony's Baltimore Grill, taking the kids to the
Ocean Life Center at Gardener's Basin, getting a baby sitter and grabbing
dinner at Dock's Oyster House, and taking in an event at Boardwalk Hall.
What originally brought you to AC?
The stork visited Hank & Beatrice Tyner, my parents.
Where do you see the city in 10 years?
Hopefully, we will have opened 2 more casino hotels, developed the Southeast
Inlet and Bader Field, and have established this city as the preeminent
destination in the country to live, work, shop and play.
What is your part in getting there?
As a real estate/land use attorney, I look forward to working with our
existing clients in the development of land for casino, commercial, and
residential uses. I always welcome opportunities to promote the area to
potential commercial/residential developers. As a candidate for the General
Assembly, I hope to serve the residents of Atlantic County by enhancing the
economic development opportunities and providing a vibrant, stable economic
environment, and to ensure that the area remains affordable for all of us to
live in.
Tell us about your favorite AC memory.
It's close, but meeting my wife the summer before my senior year in high
school. Next would be, seeing the Tyson v. Spinks fight in 1988, absolutely
the most exciting sporting event I have ever attended.
You've got two hours to kill on the boardwalk, what do you do?
Check out the scenery from Opa.
What's your favorite casino? Hotel? Bar? Restaurant? - and why?
Casino/Hotel - Borgata, because of the energy, the customer service, the
feel of luxury, the people; they really created "my happy place.";
Bar - Maloney's Uptown Sports Bar on Tennessee Ave because Steve Downey (one
of the partners) and I comprised the best backcourt in the history of Our
Lady Star of the Sea Basketball; Restaurant - Too many to name but my top
five are Dock's Oyster House, The Knife & Fork, The Foundation Room at
The House of Blues, Fairmount Tavern, and Suilan at Borgata.
What three words describe Atlantic City best?
My Home Town!
Dealer shows 17 you've got a pair of 8s - how do you play them?
Always split 8s . . . that's why it's called gambling.
What would you most like to change about Atlantic City? 2 years
ago, I would have said that we needed a district within the city that
afforded us great shopping, great restaurants, and great entertainment. Now,
we have The Walk and that wish has been checked off my list. More than
anything, I would like our citizens to be proud of who we are and what role
our city has played in entertaining visitors for 151 years. We are the
biggest small town in the world and we should be proud of it, and
continuously work to make it better and keep it fresh.
