How long have you lived in the Atlantic City area?
I have lived in the area for the past twenty years.
What do you like most about Atlantic City?
I like the range of entertainment and dining choices that are available, and of
course the beaches. Every day there is more and more to see and do in Atlantic
City.
What does the AC Tourism Council Do?
The council members are made up of local businesses and attractions. Our primary
goal is to promote those establishments to visitors. This is done through our
website www.actourism.org and through various marketing campaigns throughout the
tri-state area.
Where do you see the city in 10 years?
I see the city continuing the trend of offering both gaming and non-gaming
attractions. This will bring new types of consumers who have diverse interests
and expectations. Whether it is a family, a couple or a single person the city
will become a world-class resort destination for everyone.
What is your part in getting there?
I see my role, as creating visitor awareness of what the area has to offer and
providing them with information so they can plan their vacation. We receive
phone calls from families looking for something specific for their children, as
well as visitors looking for where to shop, play golf, and where to dine. The
more you provide for visitors to do, the longer they stay and experience
everything the region offers.
What is the biggest challenge that the council faces?
The AC Tourism Council is one of six regional councils in the state. The
councils are funded through both state programs and private funding sources.
Available financing for future marketing campaigns is the biggest concern.
Where do you like to hang out in Atlantic City?
I really enjoy the beach bars and boardwalk in the summer. I also like the
Borgata for dining and entertainment.
What three words describe Atlantic City best?
Always something new.
What would you most like to change about Atlantic City?
The perception by some that Atlantic City is only a gaming destination.
