Jason Hanin is the Executive Chef of Dune restaurant in Margate. An ingredient driven seafood restaurant. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Prior to earning 4 stars by the A.C. Press, Jason spent time training at places like the Hotel Jerome & Carnevale in Aspen, Co., Striped Bass of Philadelphia, Pa. and Club Med in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
He learned from the great talents of Keith Mitchell, Robert Irvine, Josef Rasicci and
did stages at Alma de Cuba, Baleen, and Norman’s to name a few. Constantly striving to be better than yesterday, Jason was just recently eating his way through Paris and Madrid. "I know perfection is unattainable, but I reach for it everyday and never settle for mediocrity".

I've lived on the island, in Ventor, off and on since I was a little boy.Are you married or single?

Sort of, her name is "Dune Restaurant" and I baby her everyday.
What do like most about Atlantic City?
Not that I have any free time, but the town and its restaurants keep getting better and better every year.
Describe your perfect day in Atlantic City?
Hmmm. I guess starting my day by riding my Harley, finishing with a nice dinner, good company & big drinks.
What originally brought you to AC?
I am a Local and had a great opportunity with Nick Weinstein (Dune owner). My family is here too, which owns Deltona Discount Tires.
Where do you see the city in 10 years?
I hope it is as big and bad as Vegas!
Do you play in the casinos? If so, what's your game and where do you play?
Veryyy rare. I rather spend money on myself or my Harley, or myself!
What are the best reasons to come to Atlantic City?
Great restaurants, bars, clubs and of course the beach, with that great ocean breeze.
What's your favorite thing to do outside of the Casinos?
Getting on my Harley, then ride it like I stole it.
What's the wildest thing you've ever seen in Atlantic City?
I would love to tell you; but you would have to censor it.
What three words describe Atlantic City best?
Growing, growing, growing!
