Bachelor Parties

Atlantic City is a tremendously popular place to have a bachelor party. There aren't too many other places where you'll find gambling, the beach, golf, great dining and a wild nightlife all in the same area...more

Jonathan Karp
   Executive Chef & GM, Jonathan's
I started in the culinary industry at age 11, partially because my stepfather owned 3 restaurants. I started with washing dishes and worked my way through practically every restaurant job. I finally got a job at the Longport Inn. I then became the Sous Chef at Cousin's Country house and worked there for three years. I left to become the kitchen manager at a chain restaurant, and then became Executive Chef of Chet's in Mays Landing and Galloway. In 2000 I left to open Jonathan's.

Do you live in Atlantic City?
No, I live in Mays Landing

Are you married or single?
Single, but I hope to be married soon. I don't have any children.

What do like most about Atlantic City?
To see how it has been growing... and continues to grow and modernize itself

Where do you see the city in 10 years?
I hope it attracts as many people as Vegas. It becomes a multi-billion dollar town with all the casinos having facelifts and expansions to recreate themselves

Tell us about your favorite AC memory
My Atlantic City High School graduation

You've got two hours to kill on the boardwalk, what do you do?
Go to the Quarter at the Trop

Why should I go to Jonathan's on West End?
We offer a menu that is unique and special. We offer great portions and prices.

Is there something that I will only find there and not other AC hot spots?
Yes, our menu is different; it has a huge selection of items. My food is what I call New Age fusion, I try to combine different styles and foods that don't necessarily belong together- or aren't thought to work together. We have a large menu with 15 appetizers, dry-aged steaks and prime rib, seafood, veal, chicken dishes, salads and more. The daily specials change three times a week.

What's your favorite casino? Hotel? Bar? Restaurant? - and why.
The Borgata because it is geared towards the young people- it's fun and filled with ambiance geared toward my age.
What's your favorite thing to do in AC outside the casinos?
I like to go to the clubs- Deja vu, Tru and Studio 6.

What's the wildest thing you've ever seen in Atlantic City?
Lots of the wild things I've seen took place in the clubs mentioned above, but there are none I can tell you about.

What three words describe Atlantic City best
Up and Coming.

Dealer shows 17, you've got a pair of 8s - how do you play them?
I don't know, I'm not a gambler. I work too hard to throw my money away so quickly.
