Top 10 Nightclubs And Bars In Atlantic City
EDITORIAL REVIEW
New York may be the city that never sleeps, but Atlantic City is always turned on- and has the nightlife to prove it. We've listed the Top 10 spots that you'd probably want to visit again-whether it's for the vibe, company, cheap drinks or that really hot bartender.
Deja Vu-
One of the most well-known dance clubs in the city, Deja Vu has been the destination for out of town clubbers for years. It's the granddaddy of the AC dance scene, but that means it's doing something right.
Cuba Libre Restaurant And Rum Bar - Anchoring the Tropicana's Quarter is Cuba Libre, a great restaurant and bar with free-flowing Mojitos and Latin rhythms. Most nights the dance floor is filled with people doing the salsa or meringue, but you can still get down and boogie to hip-hop and other beats at the upstairs missile bar. If you're going to the Quarter, you'll probably spend some time here - and be glad you did.
mur.mur - Bringing a unique dimension to Borgata,
mur.mur further establishes Borgata as the premier nightlife and entertainment destination on the East Coast, offering the style, caché, and party vibe found in social hotspots around the country. With a variety of original nightlife concepts under one roof including Gypsy Bar (Borgata's resident rock and tequila bar), B Bar (Borgata's ultra-lounge), and MIXX (Borgata's Latin-Asian fusion restaurant and dance club),
mur.mur is an intimate nightclub experience with infectious energy orchestrated by celebrity guest DJs, offering guests the ultimate sense of nightlife escapism.
No cover on Monday nights.
Planet Rose -Planet Rose is the only Karaoke bar in Atlantic City. It's cool and casual atmosphere is very conducive to having a couple of cocktails, then belting out one of your favorite tunes. The space is on the small side, making it easy to meet the people near you, especially as you thumb through the song lists together.
Irish Pub - This venerable Atlantic City institution is still the best place in town to have a late night drink and a bite to eat. It's not unusual to find the place packed at 3A.M. The food and drink are ridiculously inexpensive and you can meet all types of people here, making it a great place to start or end the evening.
Casbah- To many, the Casbah is still THE place to get down and boogie. Located in the Taj, the club attracts a strong New York City flavor that comes through in the music, patrons and often the attitude too. Although you might find it played out, you can't argue with the many beautiful babies that frequent the club.
The Wave- The Wave is a small, but fun club inside the Trump Marina. It can get pretty wild some nights, but sometimes it's as quiet as a tomb. If you're at the Marina, you should at least stop in for one drink. There's a dance floor that occasionally hosts such events as bikini or lingerie contests, a mid-sized bar and lots of seating.
Gypsy Bar- A nice new addition to the night-time scene, the Gypsy bar is a fabulous place to have a mojito and listen to some great Latin music. At least in this case, size matters- the only problem with the Gypsy is that it's very small. The turn-over is fairly brisk, so if you're patient you'll eventually be seated. In the meantime you can hang out at the bar and have one of their terrific specialty drinks.
40/40 Club - Jay-z is in the hizzy. Modeled after the successful club in NYC. The name is derived from the very exclusive group of players who hit 40 home runs and stole 40 bases in the same season - the rare combination of speed and power. The multi-level upscale sports bar and lounge, located at 2120 Atlantic Avenue at The Walk and right next to Caesars Casino, features more than 30 Plasma screen TV's and a huge projection TV right over the bar. There are many exclusive VIP rooms (reserved with names like ESPN, Caesars, Arod). The main TV has 'stadium' like seating by the main bar-perfect for watching the big game in style.
Mixx- The Borgata's nightclub has an active dance floor that is occasionally pumped up by routines from Mixx's own dance troupe. The sound system and design are first rate, making it the hottest club in town. You can dance the night away and have cocktails on the first floor or spring for the VIP seating in one of the second floor lounges or private rooms.
