EDITORIAL REVIEW
Showboat had always filled a niche as a great themed resort and Atlantic City's very own Mardi Gras casino but now, as home to of one of the largest House of Blues venues in the country, it has evolved into a totally hip, must-see destination in the thick of the action on Atlantic City's boardwalk.
Showboat's casino offers 97,000 square feet of gaming space, with almost 100 table games and nearly 4,000 slot machines. Slot players will enjoy all the latest games to come out along with the Carousel room, a high-end slot parlor featuring more than 15,000 square feet of slot machines. A horse racing simulcasting center is also available. And now, with the House of Blues Poker room, poker aficionados needn't go any further for daily cash tournaments. The Poker Room also plays host to all the nation's top tournaments. And players can now seek the thrill of four illuminated roulette games, the first of their kind, available only at the House of Blues.
The Showboat has a total of nine restaurants and snack bars that prepare and serve everything from gourmet meals at The Rib & Chophouse to a quick cup of java at Starbucks. The French Quarter Buffet showcases the distinct flavors of New Orleans and provides you with a set of complementary beads to remember your visit. The House of Blues restaurant features southern-style home cooking.
The resort's 346-seat Mardi Gras Showroom accommodates a variety of entertainment and special events. The New Orleans Square Bandstand hosts free jazz band entertainment and piano players entertain guests with classic to contemporary songs in the hotel lobby. Of course now, with one of the country's premier concert venues -- the House of Blues Music Hall -- headline entertainment is always close at hand.
For a true nightclub experience, your prayers have been answered with the House of Blues' own Club Worship featuring three pulsing levels of excitement, expansive bar, dance floor and third floor VIP private seating and bottle service.
The Showboat hotel offers more than 1,300 guest rooms, including its new 544-room, $90 million hotel tower that opened in May 2003. Many of the 59 suites offer breathtaking ocean views. Guests have their choice of accommodations: Deluxe Room, Super Suite, Bourbon Tower Room, Bourbon Tower Suite, New Tower Room or Suite and Orleans Tower Room or Suite. Or live like a rock star in one of the 22 House of Blues Suites, each showcasing a 360° conversation zone and 42" plasma screen TV.
Then you can round out your stay at Showboat by diving into the shimmering swimming pool, firming up in the fitness center, going glam in the full-service beauty salon and pampering yourself in the spa.
