One of the most famous and successful restaurant concepts in Philly, Atlantic City now has its own Buddakan at the Pier at Caesars. The atmosphere is just as chic as the original location, but creates its own identity with private dining areas called "opium beds", a second floor lounge/dining room and of course, its own Golden Buddha that overlooks a 24-foot communal dining room table.
The interior of the restaurant connotes the feeling of an ancient Chinese village but the cuisine is absolutely cutting edge. Asian classics are fused with European elements to create one of a kind dishes such as edamame ravioli, wasabi-crusted filet mignon and grilled lamb chops with Chinese eggplant, garlic sauce and Thai basil pesto.
Buddakan has been called "a temple of modern Asian cuisine." But it's also a testament to the possibilities of inspired design. Upon entering, the first thing one sees is a surreal Asian garden surrounded by multi-level archways and 25-foot trees that seem to grow through rocks, footbridges and the ceiling itself. The surreal transition helps prepare one for the main dining room, which appears to sit below a twilight sky. The dramatic atmosphere and enchanting karma is enhanced by the presence of a gigantic Golden Buddha that watches over the entire restaurant from a head of a 24-foot communal dining room table. The overall effect is a union of Asian sensuality and modern sensibility.
The menu portrays an innovative interpretation of Asian Cuisine that matches the ambience in terms of creativity, inspiration and its capacity to satisfy. A delectably imaginative fusion of Chinese, French and other Asian styles results in dishes that are exotic yet comforting - all prepared with perfectionist attention to the smallest detail.
Buddakan's spectacular yet dreamlike ambience adds a new dimension to the array of destinations at The Pier at Caesars.
