EDITORIAL REVIEW

The Midtown Manhattan icon of huge plates and low bills has made its home in The Quarter at Tropicana since it opened in 2005. Some people swear by the food, while some people go not for the food, but the ambiance and experience. The restaurant has a long dark wood bar, high ceilings, and walls decorated with family portraits and some portraits of famous Italian-Americans: Rocky Marciano, Dean Martin, and others. The atmosphere is equally comfortable for the patron either in jeans or a suit. The menus are posted on the wall and easy to read. One entrée here will on average feed four people, so it's definitely not a couples spot unless you go early for the smaller lunches. Carmine's enforces a reservation policy on Saturday nights: no parties smaller than six. Any groups five and under get waitlisted and that list can run from 20 minutes to three hours.

Food & Servic Awsome!!! 10.0 Stars

The family style atmosphere & great service were just what we expected. We had a large group of 20 celebrating a birthday. We made arrangements with the Special Events Office & had a set menu. The food was beyond expectations & the service was amazing Definitly will go back again!

AWESOME!!!! 10.0 Stars

First of all the people who reviewed this restaurant above me are out of there mind. I have eaten here multiple time and the food and service has always been superb. I always have extra food to take home and I find myself anxious to eat it the next day. A+ all around for Carmines....

Party of 26, all hated it!!!! 0.0 Stars

Where to begin. Knowing that we were going to be in the Tropicana on 12/16/06 we made a reservation for Carmine's at least 3 weeks in advance. Having eaten in the Carmines in New York, we were all looking forward to a wonderful meal. Boy were we wrong! To start with, we were told that we couldn't sit at one table, which was fine, but when we arrived, they had put us on opposite ends of an empty restaurant. When we asked the manager why we couldn't at least sit next to each other, we were told, very harassed and rudely, that this is "corporate policy". Next is the service. We waited over an hour for our entrees. I believe the cause for the delay is that our waiter went to "lunch" in the middle of our dinner. When we finally did receive our entree, our other table was already finished eating and waiting for us. In anticipation of this long awaited meal we at least hoped the food would be good, wrong again. The pasta was undercooked and the Veal Marcela was Gravy Marcela, where's the veal. Then when we finally started to eat, they couldn't get us out fast enough. The plates were being taken away while you were still eating. In conclusion, this restaurant is a disgrace to the Carmine's name. Awful service, terrible food and rude management, what more can I say.

great food, great value for the buck 10.0 Stars

the amount of food you get is enough for 4 people, so figure on taking leftovers home for next night. service was excellent. need reservations, or forget about eating there.

Luncheon Entrees & Appetizers 1.0 Stars

We went for my best friend's birthday. The raw clams and the dessert were good. After spending $120, that doesn't say much.
