EDITORIAL REVIEW

Flames, or "Mediterranean Flames", as it is more properly known, is about three blocks up the Boardwalk from Tropicana, right at California Avenue. Flames is known for all-day goodies, from breakfast to dinner. Flames also has the distinction of being the temporary home to Johnny Varalli of Scannicchio's fame. When Johnny lost his restaurant thanks to the massive renovation of his building, Flames was nice enough to give him a kitchen to work out of so he wouldn't be forgotten until the new and improved Scannicchio's opens, which we hear will be late 2008 or early 2009.

NO SERVICE AFTER 1030 pm 1.0 Stars

after 10:30 P.M. NO SERVICE. i was ignored by the waitresses. it took 5 minutes to be seen by the hostess and then it was an effort to tell her what i wanted. i was not alone. 2 tables were in the same boat. they either wanted more drinks or the check. they were still waiting when i walked out. no one came after me to bring me back. the food may be good, but i will have to read about it. check the time when they close on the sign or when they want to close.
