Ventura's Offshore Cafe

Ventura's Offshore Cafe (2015 Shore Road in Northfield, about 15 minutes from the casinos) is famous for its mussels marinara, pan pizzas, and Black Angus filet, but its menu also includes poultry, seafood, and lighter options sure to accommodate almost any taste. Drink, appetizer and blackboard specials are offered throughout the week. Some of Ventura's Offshore Cafe's more interesting decor includes a cigar-store Indian in the bar and a replica of a WWI-era pilot next to a brick fireplace in the main dining room. The red and green sign facing Shore Road is inlaid with a miniature ship's paddlewheel. You can also purchase liquors and other goodies in the adjacent package-goods store that include, among other items, jars of Ventura's homemade pasta sauce. Good food and lively bar scene on weekends.
