EDITORIAL REVIEW

Virginia City Buffet was designed to resemble a Western porch, and the décor concept certainly isn't married to the food concept, as Virginia City has chuck wagon American offerings, Italian, wok, and a deli counter. As if that's not enough, the Western theme and the food theme do agree for dessert, with the Remember the Alamode dessert bar. All patrons need to be 21 to come here since the buffet can only be entered by walking on the casino floor of Bally's Wild Wild West.

Incredible steamed clams 10.0 Stars

You get the best steamed clams here. These are middle to top neck clams and not the little nasty Maine clams you get at the small time buffets. I am going back for a few plates the next time I am in Atlantic City!

EXCELLENT FOOD - WAITER SERVICE ALSO EXCELLENT 9.0 Stars

THE VIRGINIA CITY BUFFET HAS BEEN A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. THE FOOD WAS PREPARED WELL, THE PRESENTATION WAS ALSO DONE WELL. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE CEASER SALAD, NOT TASTEY. OVER ALL THE BUFFET IS A RECOMMENDATION TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

The best I have ever had 10.0 Stars

I think this buffet and for the price is one of the best i hav ever had. I go to Las Vegas also and I have never had one there that compares to this either for money and taste.

Rock found in my food 0.0 Stars

My daughters and I "dined" with you on Saturday September 8, 2007. It is no surprise that your website is so poor that it wont accept the current year. Does it not want to hear how bad things are. We were seated promptly and our drink orders taken. We served ourselves at the buffet . Very shortly thereafter I began to eat what looked like very flavorful food. Much to my chagrin, I found a ROCK (about the size of a quarter) in my food. Not only did the chef not acknowledge the problem, he did not even call the manager. Our server was nice enough to call the manager, Ana, who was very apologetic. She ended up subtracting my dinner from the bill. However, my appetite and my desire to ever eat at your establishment were gone. In additionm, there were chunks of skin in the mashed sweet potatoes. The food, including the soups, were room temperature at best. Certainly not piping hot as expected. I would recommend that the chef be reprimanded for the lack of quality control in the kitchen. In order to get us to try again, it would take at least a gift certificate for the 4 people in my family. Maybe then, we would return, but very cautious about what we saw on our plates.

Food was just so-so 4.0 Stars

This was in June 2007, not 2006 (it did not offer the option of 2007). The food has definitely gone down in quality. I used to love this place, but now it is just so-so. I guess if you are really, really hungry, it is worth it for the amount of food you get, but not for the quality.

Virginia City Buffett 0.0 Stars

Ridiculous! My family and I waited 1.5 hours for the lunch buffet. I don't mind that the "Platinum" card holders get preferential treatment but don't leave cash paying customers standing in a line for hours - especially the elderly! Here's the real kicker - when we finally got up to the restaurant, NEARLY HALF THE TABLES WERE EMPTY! For a buffet, the food wasn't bad but I would rather pay twice as much and get a decent meal in an acceptable amount of time. One of the guidelines for submitting a review is that it must be "Written in English" but many of your employees can barely speak the language. Changes are most certainly in order at Bally's in Atlantic City. (I was at your restaurant just the other day but 2007 is not a choice selection above).

Never Again!!! 0.0 Stars

I swear that there were whip marks from the jockey that rode the meat that they were serving there! The "VCB" ,at one time was "a happening"! Today it absolutely stinks. The meat........... if you could call it that ....... was of a lower grade than I had in the service 40 years ago. The service was no better..... the guy at the ice cream bar acted like he was on crack! I wouldn't recomend this buffet to a dog these days. At one time it was one of the best. I had better food in a high school cafateria.

Changing for the worst - 2-22-07 4.0 Stars

I travel to AC at least once a year and always visit this buffet. The changes in the way they are handling the customers has driven me away. The lines and holding areas are rediculous. The customer service and quality are declining. They definitely need to rethink the direction they have taken. I will be back in AC in April but this will NOt be one of my stops.

Horrible 3.0 Stars

What a Dissapointment!!! I followed the reviews The food was no better than High school cafeteria food. The fried food was all over done and sitting in chaffing dish's..The NY strips were all pre cooked and piled on top of eachother on the grill..Some raw ones were sitting out..but the had turned brown-grey from lack of refrigeration...Staff was mostly non english speaking.Service was slow..our drinks didnt arrive until mid-meal. The only thing I thought was decent was the u-peel shrimp. Tasty but should have been iced down...We will not be back

Best Buffet in Atlantic City 10.0 Stars

Absolutely the best bargin in Atlantic City. Upon entering, you get a ticket for a thick cooked to order Delmonico steak. The buffet is sectioned off into theme sections; Chinese, New York Deli, Italian, Soups and Salads, etc... The fresh steamed clams and shrimp alone are better than any seafood buffet in AC. The pastrami and egg rolls are phenomenal also. Everything in this buffet is delicious and fresh and the desert section has everything that you can imagine; from making your own Sundays to an extensive selection of cakes and pies (sugar-free available). The setting has an Old West Saloon theme with sectioned off porch seating, as well as the main floor. The staff is great also. Definitely worth the trip.
