Mac daddy. King. Da bomb. Subs from White House have been shipped all over the world and really do have a worldwide reputation.

It's one of those places that you go just to say you were there, but at least here there's a payoff for going. The payoff comes in the form of a usually long line, staff that may or may not need to work on their people skills and a near-guarantee of takeout since the line for tables often exceeds the line to renew your driver's license. But after all that, you'll chow down on one of the best subs you've ever had, period.

Get this: White House, according to the Zagat Survey, outranks Chef Vola's (which is widely considered the best restaurant in Atlantic City).

The Special, Italian and cheesesteak subs are what put them on the map, but the sausage and the hamburger subs are fantastic too. By the way, it's not the ingredients in the hot subs that make the roll warm to the touch. The Formica Brothers bakery is right down the street and they deliver rolls fresh all day. Chances are your roll is fresh out of the oven.

When we asked one of the sub-makers what makes the sandwiches so special, he said it was a very simple formula. The just get the best of everything. They find the best cuts of meat, tastiest cheese- even the paper they use to wrap the sandwiches is of the highest quality.
