If you're looking to stay in the heart of Atlantic City and at the same time trying to save a buck or two, you won't find very many choices better than the Holiday Inn Boardwalk. This hotel offers reasonable rates and a prime location overlooking the famous Boardwalk and beaches of Atlantic City. Most importantly, these rooms are pretty good!
The Holiday Inn is situated just off the Boardwalk in the south side of town, between the Hilton and Tropicana casinos. In fact, you can walk the Boardwalk from the hotel to 11 out of the city's 14 casino properties, as well as numerous other Boardwalk attractions such as the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, The Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood. For a quicker, more sedentary means of traveling the city, just hop on a Jitney bus (not to be confused with the full-sized city buses), where a flat fee of $1.50 gets you to any casino property and beyond.
The Holiday Inn suites all travel agendas. The hotel is great for families, for in addition to the large variety of beach and Boardwalk amusements nearby, kids also eat and stay free at the hotel (restrictions apply). The hotel also provides a baby-sitting service upon request. Guestrooms offer a wide range of amenities for business travelers, such as high-speed Internet access, a work desk and iron with ironing board. There are also extras like hair dryers, coffeemakers, cable TV with HBO, in-room movies and alarm-clock radios. The Holiday Inn also offers guestrooms with optional ocean and Boardwalk views. Guests can choose from 2 suites, 28 Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms, King and Double rooms, as well as Handicap and Non-Smoking rooms.
Property highlights include an outdoor pool with sundeck (seasonal), as well as the in-house restaurant and bar, Scribbles Café, serving a variety of American fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Scribbles has a Happy Hour seven days a week from 4pm to 7pm, featuring drink specials and complimentary hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. (Room service also available.) The Holiday Inn offers free parking inside their garage on premises, a great alternative to the fees charged every time you park at one of the neighboring casino properties.
The Holiday Inn offers easy access to a number of popular attractions located outside downtown Atlantic City. For the golfing enthusiast, the Atlantic City area offers eight championship courses, all of which are 20 minutes or less from the hotel. If shopping's on your agenda, it's only a 15-minute drive to the Hamilton Mall, with 140 stores featuring Macy's, JCPenney and Sears. Don't forget the newly opened "Park Place on the Boardwalk", located only eight blocks away, across the Boardwalk from Caesars.
