The Madison House Hotel is an historic property situated in the heart of Atlantic City, less than a block from the famous Boardwalk and beaches. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 14-story landmark was built in 1929 and still reflects the charming ambience of Atlantic City during the city’s Golden Age of diving horses and internationally renowned entertainment. Despite this “timeless elegance”, the Madison House was losing out to more modern, more conveniently designed accommodations, as found in the neighboring casino-hotels. That is, until the hotel underwent a much-needed renovation in 2002, the result of which now offers guests the best of both worlds - modern guestrooms and amenities housed in a Victorian-style building that retains its old-world charm. Today the Madison House is an all-suite boutique hotel, the only one of its kind in the city. Each suite is comprised of a separate bedroom and parlor room. Both the bedroom and the parlor are tastefully designed with chic contemporary décor, set in warm tones of dark wood and cream. The parlor features comfortable sofa seating, a chaise lounge and a spacious workstation. Bedrooms are furnished with queen-sized beds, though each suite can accommodate up to four persons. The Madison House is managed and operated by the Sands casino, so it’s no surprise that guests are offered easy access between the hotel and the Sands via the convenient skywalk. In fact, the Madison House registration desk is actually inside the Sands building--- naturally, guests are granted access to all of the amenities enjoyed at the Sands, from the gym to the buffet. What’s more, a second indoor connection between the Sands and The Claridge casinos offers guests of the Madison House an even more diverse range of dining, entertainment, gaming and more without ever stepping outside. If that’s not enough, guests can indeed step outside and walk to 11 casinos via the famous Boardwalk, which is just steps from the hotel’s front door. With all the excitement and nightlife of the casinos, the Madison House still offers the attractive Dolley’s Lounge, located on the ground floor just inside the hotel’s street entrance on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Dolley’s offers a relaxing 18th-century ambience of dim lighting and warm mahogany tones, complete with bar seating, table seating and a large-screen TV. Here guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet, a refreshing Happy Hour cocktail, or perhaps a nightcap before retreating to your room for the evening.
