Shore Gate Golf Club is another course that is a significant drive from the casinos (about 35 minutes) but thankfully a course that is almost always well worth that drive. Seven ponds and lakes and a grand total of 88 bunkers protect the fairways and greens here. Some of the fairways are of such a downhill that at times you feel like you're playing in a canyon, and that's not altogether a bad thing given the quality of most of the holes. Shore Gate boasts the second-longest par 5 in New Jersey. No. 9 plays an absolutely mind-bending, expletive-spitting 648 yards from the back tees. Middle tees here are 70.8/128/6,400.
