Opening planned for 2006. The Pier at Caesars in Atlantic City will transform the boardwalk and pier accross from Caesars and Bally's Casinos. It will comprise of international-class shopping and entertainment. A great addition to the landmark that is the AC Boardwalk. Plans are to connect it to Caesars Atlantic City by a skybridge.
The new Pier's interior design also echoes Atlantic City's outdoor elements. Visitors will be carried through a storyline including the ocean, the night sky and the sun. Herringbone wood flooring patterns mirror the famous Boardwalk to which it is attached, and a pond surrounded by sand dunes, punctuated by waving sea grass blown by cleverly-concealed fans, greet visitors at the three-story high entrance.
The reference to a day at the beach is further enhanced by the illuminated, three-dimensional clouds at the ceiling of the first level, which lead to a central, three-story atrium containing a 40-foot high media chandelier. Surrounded by a glass and wood circular staircase, cantilevered for three levels, the chandelier projects animated advertising with glass colors of the setting sun.
Other accented features designed to entertain visitors in the complex include the second floor's teardrop ceiling made from fiber optics to create a starry sky, a second and third floor balcony view of an hourly show with a three-story climactic presentation of water, light and music, and a third level promenade of restaurants with spectacular panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Water movement is also projected on the promenade ceiling using stretch fabrics to create sinuous shapes, and projectors to reflect the ocean's serene light colors onto the material.
Nearly 100 retail stores will accompany nine restaurants on four floors over the beach that connects the Atlantic Ocean to Atlantic City's historic Boardwalk.
The Pier at Caesars, will open nine new restaurants which will take Atlantic City to a whole new level of excitement. The multi-million dollar retail, dining and entertainment complex will attract some of the East Coast's hottest restaurateurs.
Boston nightlife maven Patrick Lyons is bringing three of his Beantown concepts to The Pier. Sonsie, one of Newbury Street's trendiest cafes, will offer an eclectic bistro menu and delectable baked goods, executed by Chef Bill Poirier. Lyons's Dubliner Irish Bar and Restaurant will serve a contemporary Irish menu and offers plenty of Guinness on tap. And Game On! Is Lyons's special version of a sports bar, complete with pub fare, high definition plasma TV screens, and a beat.
Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow will provide plenty of Vegas flair with rumjungle, a scintillating mix of tropical food, R & B music, hip-hop, and a dance floor. Also on Chodorow's agenda is a yet to be named family-style Italian restaurant in collaboration with star-chef Todd English. Its rustic theatrical interior, and menu that contains red sauce, pasta, pizza and gelato productions will satisfy the needs of Italian food lovers.
Phillips Seafood Restaurant will also be featuring a Boardwalk carry-out program, and a look that can only be described as "modern retro." A family-friendly restaurant, Phillips is known for its authentic Maryland-style seafood menu, including buttery lump crab cakes, broiled lobster tails, and Alaskan king crab legs. Phillips Seafood plans to open Blowfish, a sushi bar across from the restaurant.
John Knorr, director of operations for Phillips Seafood Restaurant saw the promise in Atlantic City when Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and The Walk, a series of mid-to-high-end outlet stores located on Michigan Avenue, both opened.
Philadelphia's Stephen Starr will open Atlantic City locations for two of his mega-hits, Buddakan and The Continental. Buddakan clients will enjoy Asian cuisine while sitting at an onyx-topped communal table and viewing a spectacular 10-foot gold-leaf Buddha. In addition to shaking its classic cocktails, The Continental will feature the small plates that wow Philly's most discerning foodies.
The restaurants on The Pier at Caesars will be the latest in a series of eateries that have opened at Atlantic City casinos since 2003. Borgata started the frenzy with Ombra, Speccio, Mixx and Suilan by Susanna Foo. Tropicana followed with Red Square, Carmines, Cuba Libre, The Palm and Brule: The Dessert Experience inside their new Quarter, which opened last winter.
In addition to the nine new restaurants, The Pier at Caesars will feature 100 high-end retailers including Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, and A/X Armani Exchange; a wedding chapel; a high-tech light, sound, and water show; striking architecture; and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Altogether, it promises to be a feast for all the senses.
